By investing in the latest technology Bluesky ensures the quality, accuracy and consistency of its imagery is of the highest standard.  Bluesky maintains national aerial photography datasets which are updated every 3 years and available off-the-shelf.



Products available:

Aerial Photo

Digital aerial photography is available at a standard 25cm resolution nationwide, with options to purchase 50cm, 1m, 2m and 5m. Updated via a 3 year cyclic update programme, Bluesky aerial photography is the ideal dataset for mapping and managing land, data and assets, and also provides the perfect backdrop for other mapping products.

Captured: From 2006 onwards

Resolution: 25cm

Accuracy XY: ± 1m rmse

Optimum Viewing Scale: 1:1,250

Formats: JPG, TIFF, ECW


Aerial Photo Hi-Res

Digital high-resolution aerial photography is available at 12.5cm for much of England and Wales. Also with the option to purchase at resolutions of 25cm, 50cm, 2m and 1m available.

Resolution: 12.5cm

Accuracy XY: ± 50cm rmse

Optimum Viewing Scale: 1:750

Colour Infrared

As concerns for the environment grow, colour infrared photography (CIR) offers us a wealth of information on the health and state of the vegetation. A colour infrared image, in the near infrared spectrum band, is acquired simultaneously with aerial photography.
