MappAir Annual Average Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and Particulate Matter (PM₂.₅) Concentrations for the UK

MappAir® Annual Averages allow identification and analysis of air pollution concentrations for Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) and Particulate Matter (PM₂.₅) across the UK for that selected year.

The annual average products utilise land-use regression modelling techniques to estimate pollutant concentrations using a range of air pollution predictors, including emissions, road network information and land-use data. These datasets are used alongside ratified monitoring data to tune and evaluate the model's performance.

Annual average datasets are quality-checked against Defra’s air quality monitoring network, Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN), and all years meet Directive 2008/50/EC (Ambient Air Quality Directive) standards.
